Woman admits killing six-year-old son in Swansea

A woman has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of her six-year-old son.

Alexander Zurawski, died on 29 August last year at a house in the Gendros area of Swansea

Karolina Zurawska, 41, denied murdering Alexander.

The manslaughter plea was accepted by the prosecution on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

She also pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of a 67-year-old man.

Zurawska appeared in the dock on Monday and spoke via a Polish interpreter.

In a tribute released after his death, Alexander's family said he was a "very kind child".

"Alexander was always well behaved and never naughty," the statement added.

His family also said that Alexander was "very clever and very mature for his age".

Judge Paul Thomas KC said Zurawska will be sentenced on 25 April.
