Woman dies after Wolverhampton Road collision

A pedestrian has died following a road traffic collision in Oldbury last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a pedestrian on the A4123 Wolverhampton Road near to Birchley Island, Oldbury, shortly after 8.30pm yesterday.

Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and HART paramedics responded to the scene. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:

“The pedestrian, a woman, was in a critical condition when ambulance staff arrived. The team of medics worked quickly to administer advanced life support to her but sadly, despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed dead on scene a short time later. The motorcyclist, a man, sustained minor injuries and didn’t require hospital treatment.”
