Travellers moved on from Oldbury

A group of travellers who set up an illegal camp in Oldbury, have been moved on within hours of arriving.

Caravans gathered on a car park at Birchley Island on Monday night, before moving to Lion Farm Playing Fields nearby.

But police issued a section 62 notice against the group which would have allowed them to remove caravans and make arrests if they refused to leave.

The majority of the group left by Tuesday morning. They’re now banned from the borough of Sandwell for three months.
