Two musicians who shot to fame in the 1980s are bringing shows to the borough next year.

Tickets are on sale from 10am today for separate shows from Nik Kershaw and Stewart Copeland.

Rock and roll Hall of Famer Copeland - founder member and drummer for The Police - is bringing his show Have I Said Too Much to Dudley Town Hall on Wednesday October 1.

Copeland is also a multi-Grammy winner and has composed soundtracks for hit Hollywood films including Oliver Stone’s Wall Street.

The show will see him share stories of his life and take questions from fans.

Meanwhile Nik Kershaw is bringing his show Musings and Lyrics to the St James’s Road venue on Sunday October 19, where he promises to share “songs, stories and silliness”.

Kershaw was the UK’s biggest selling solo artist in 1984 after bursting onto the scene. He also performed at Live Aid and has written for scores of other artists, penning Chesney Hawkes’ floor-filling hit I Am The One and Only.

Rupert Knowlden, manager for Dudley Borough Halls, said: “This is a chance to see two iconic musicians from a golden period of music for many.

“They are bringing intimate shows to Dudley Town Hall as part of big national tours and audience members will get the chance to listen to never heard before stories and ask their own questions.

“We can’t wait to welcome them here and I’m sure tickets will be snapped up quickly when they go on sale tomorrow. We’d urge people not to delay to avoid disappointment.”
