The Red House Glass Cone is hosting a weekend of regal celebrations to coincide with Queen Elizabeth II’s record-breaking reign.
The event on Saturday 14 May from 10am – 4pm includes a range of free and paid-for activities.
There will be glassmaking demonstrations with glass artists Tim Boswell from 10am – 4pm with Tim making items in red white and blue. There will also be mini guided tours of the cone with tour guides and a display of vintage glass in the cone’s map room.
There will be vintage vehicles on main forecourt of the cone and hopefully the sun will be shining for a set of 1920’s dancers who will be dancing the Charleston. People can watch and even have a go between 1pm-3pm.
The JAM club will be running activities, with the chance to make crowns and castles for just £2.35 per child.
The cone’s studio artists are also getting into the swing of things with a range of royalty inspired workshops. These include wire work and beading workshops, badge-making from old postage stamps and union jack painting sessions with the chance to paint and decorate pottery in red, white and blue including crown plaques.
The Red House Glass Cone, High Street, Wordsley, is open 10am – 3pm Monday to Friday and 11am – 4pm at the weekends. Admission is free. Call 01384 812750 for details.
