Road closed following lorry bridge crash

A main road just outside Stourbridge town centre was closed for more than three hours yesterday after a lorry crashed into a viaduct.

The accident happened at 3 o clock yesterday afternoon on Stourbridge Road in Lye, causing huge tailbacks between Hungary Hill and Cemetery Road all the way to the ring road.

Trains towards and from Lye were also affected and two fire engines dealt with the situation, with no injuries reported.

The road was re-opened just after six o clock.
