A Walsall Post Office which closed in February 2024 when its postmaster resigned is due to reopen within weeks.
Pleck Post Office, located inside the Pleck General Store on Darlaston Road, will begin offering all the usual Post Office services from 1pm on Friday, January 24, 2025.
When the postmaster resigned nearly 12 months ago, the shop was due to be sold to a new owner. The Post Office said the premise is being reopened under new management and new postmaster.
Available services include bill payment, cash withdrawals and pre-order foreign currency, postage, home shopping collections and returns. Customers of main UK banks can access accounts at the new branch.
Kulwant Dosanjh, Post Office area change manager, said: “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to Pleck as we know how important a Post Office is to a community. I know that the local community will join me in welcoming this good news and hope that our customers will continue to use this service.”
The opening hours will be 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 9am – 2pm on Saturday and closed on Sunday.
Roadside parking is available outside the branch with a disabled parking bay and a car park at the rear.
