Officers attended the scene in Halesowen Road at around 2:45pm after a blue Ford Focus car being chased by police crashed into a parked single decker bus.
The occupants of the car tried to escape but their vehicle was badly damaged after both airbags were deployed.
One person was arrested at the scene while the other fled.
Anybody with any information is asked to call officers on 101.
