Man given life sentence for Stourbridge double murder

A man’s been sentenced to life in prison for stabbing to death a mother and her teenage son at their Stourbridge home.

At Birmingham Crown Court earlier today, Aaron Barley was told he must spend at least 30 years behind bars for murdering Tracey Wilkinson and 13 year-old Pierce at their house in Greyhound Road, Norton on the 30th of March. Tracey, aged 50, died at the scene and Pierce died later in hospital.

At an earlier hearing, 24 year-old Barley pleaded guilty to the murders and to the attempted murder of Tracey’s husband, Peter Wilkinson, who was critically injured in the attack.

Barley had been helped by Tracey Wilkinson after she found him sleeping rough on a Stourbridge street. He was told by the judge that he’d shown no remorse and may spend the rest of his life in prison.
