Man dies after Oldbury house fire

A man has died after a fire at a house in Oldbury yesterday afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called by the fire service to an address on Defford Drive at 1:30pm.

One ambulance, two paramedic officers and the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team were sent to the scene. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:

“On arrival, we discovered one patient. Sadly, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
