A man's been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed multiple times in a Lye car park.

Gheorghe Mihai, aged 37, of Park Street, has also been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm following the incident on Monday afternoon in Providence Street.

The woman in her 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and a man, who is believed to have tried to intervene in the drama, also suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
