Lye man jailed for beer glass attack

A man from lye has been jailed for assaulting his ex-girlfriend with a beer glass at her home in Lower Gornal.

Maryanne Smith lost one-and-a-half litres of blood in the attack by Raymond Sinclair which left her fearing for her life.

44 year-old Sinclair, had been in a three month relationship with Miss Smith, but suspected she was seeing someone else. He was sentenced to two years in prison.
