It's been confirmed that the Post Office will return to Quarry Bank later this month, after local MP's joined the campaign.
Nearly 10 years after it was closed, a new counter will open inside the branch of Costcutter that is currently on the High Street. Local MPs Mike Wood and Business Minister Margot James, who is responsible for the Post Office as part of her Ministerial role, will officially open the branch on Friday 1st December. Margot said,
“I am very pleased indeed that this campaign has been successful and that Quarry Bank residents will soon have their Post Office facility returned to them. I look forward to celebrating the opening of the branch with the local community.”
Local campaigner, Brian Genner, added:
“The response from everyone in Quarry Bank, both traders and the public, has been wonderful. We’d like to offer our thanks to Margot for assisting us throughout the campaign.”
Post Office services in Quarry Bank will be available from Thursday 23rd November, seven days a week.
