Let’s get ready to ramble for Children In Need

People are being invited to join a walk in the park to raise cash for the BBC Children in Need appeal.

The BBC Countryfile ramble will take place on Sunday October 15 from 10am to 12 noon at The Leasowes in Halesowen. It is one of thousands of walks being held over the country over one weekend for the charity.

The ramble is approximately three kilometres long and takes in most of the picturesque parkland, which was famously designed by William Shenstone. The walk will be led by wardens at the park alongside several Friends groups associated with the site, including Friends of the Leasowes, Friends of Coombeswood and the Halesowen Abbey Trust.

The groups have recently formed a larger fundraising and lobbying group together called The Leasowes Green Gateway. Sponsorship forms can be downloaded from the BBC Countryfile website or picked up from the wardens’ office.

Refreshments will be available at the end of the walk.

Those wishing to take part are asked to meet on the car park on Leasowes Lane, off Mucklow Hill. For further details, call the wardens office on 01384 814642.
