Kingswinford Christian Centre relaunches ‘Warm Welcomes’

People looking for a drink, a bite to eat and good company can look forward to a warm welcome at a local church’s weekly “meet and eat” sessions.

The team at Kingswinford Christian Centre have relaunched their popular ‘Warm Welcomes’ initiative which sees the Kingswinford-based church open its doors to the public offering a warm welcome and opportunity for a friendly chat, as well as free coffee and teacakes.

Local MP Mike Wood attended the first of this winter’s dates and said how great it was that the church has brought the initiative back for another year. Mr Wood said:

“There is always a such a warm welcome here at Kingswinford Christian Centre, and that can help make a real difference for people – especially in the colder months when many try to stay indoors.

“Kath, Bob, Pastor Rob Cooper and the rest of the team do a fantastic job supporting people from all over the local area throughout the year. Their determination to bring this initiative back for another year is testament to that.”

Kath Cooper, who leads the team that organises Warm Welcomes at the church, added: “We’re here every Friday and open to everyone.

“Why not come along, bring a friend, join us for toasted teacakes, tea, coffee and a friendly chat. We’re pleased that many who came last year are already coming back again, but we would love to see some new faces too.”

The event is completely free to attend and held every Friday from 11am till 3pm at Kingswinford Christian Centre on Summer St.
