Halesowen trader fined for false credentials

A Halesowen man’s landed a court bill of nearly £3,000 after falsely claiming to belong to various approved trader schemes.

Christopher Rock of Highfield Crescent, who ran the Bathroom Shop at Lyde Green in Cradley, displayed the Gas Safe logo on the shop’s website, when it was not Gas Safe registered.

The website also displayed logos of three other approved schemes that it was not a member of.

Rock was prosecuted by Dudley Council Trading Standards and pleaded guilty to the offences at Dudley Magistrates Court.
