A number of roads in Halesowen town centre were closed after an apparent suicide bid from a town car park.
Pool Road in Halesowen was shut off at both ends from around 8am while officers work to resolve the incident with access blocked at both Queens Way and Birmingham Street at the end of the road, close to Halesowen Leisure Centre.
West Midlands Police spokesman Lee Page said a woman came down at around 1.30am Friday morning and was detained under the Mental Health Act.
The force thanked people for their patience after some were unable to retrieve their vehicles from the car park during the incident.
Mr Page added: "Their patience allowed for this to be resolved safely and the officers at the scene are grateful for that."
