Despite the best efforts of firefighters, ten calves died in this severe fire in a barn in Halesowen last night.
Officers received the first of several 999 calls at 9.14pm and over 25 firefighters and 5 appliances were sent to the blaze. Fire officers were forced to split the incident into sectors to tackle the fire from different areas.
Teams worked hard to try to stop the fire from spreading, saving around 100 cattle and 12 horses and crews handed the site back to the farm owners at around 11am this morning.
This incident is being treated as suspected arson and anyone with information is urged to contact West Midlands Police on 101.
