Get your flu vaccine at a local mobile clinic this December

Stay healthy this festive season with a drop-in mobile flu vaccine clinic in Dudley this week.

The mobile vaccine clinic will be in Dudley Market Place on Friday 12 December from 10am–3pm. The event is part of a series of drop-in mobile flu vaccination clinics running across Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Dudley, and Walsall this December.

Cases are rising earlier than usual this year and getting vaccinated is the best way to enjoy the festivities safely. All of the clinics are drop-in, no appointment is needed. Eligible residents can turn up and help protect their health ahead of the festive period.

Eligible groups include:

• Adults aged 65 years and over
• People aged 6 months to under 65 with certain long-term health conditions
• Children aged 2–3 years
• Pregnant women
• Frontline health and social care staff, including those working in older adult care homes

Councillor Andrea Goddard, cabinet member for public health and adult social care said: “Getting vaccinated is one of the best things you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones from flu.

“Catching flu can not only ruin your Christmas plans, but in some cases can be really serious, even dangerous especially for older people or those with an underlying health condition.

"I’ve had my jab and I’ll be attending the Dudley drop-in to support the event.”

Sally Roberts, Chief Nursing Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer for NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board said; “Flu isn’t just a seasonal bug – for many people it can lead to very serious, and sometimes dangerous, complications.

"That’s why it’s so important that everyone who is eligible gets their flu jab. Getting vaccinated helps protect you, your family, and your wider community.

"We’re already seeing flu circulate earlier than usual this year, with large numbers of people seeking GP appointments and hospital care for an illness that vaccination can help prevent.”

• Friday 12 December, 10am–3pm – Dudley Market, 24 Market Place, Dudley, DY1 1PJ
• Saturday 13 December, 10am–3pm – Bloxwich Launchpad, Market Place, Walsall, WS3 2JF
