Three new impressive recruits have joined the attraction's birds of prey display team.
Buzz the Asian brown wood owl, Hannibal the Eurasian Eagle owl and Attila the Steppe Eagle have transferred from Colchester Zoo. Birds Section Leader Nicola Wright said:
“The trio make a fantastic addition to the flying team and we’re very excited to have them here at DZG. We’re currently training them first thing in a morning before visitors come on site.
"We're also working to get them used to the castle courtyard arena and their new surroundings and hopefully they’ll soon be ready to be fully fledged members of the flying squad!”
If you’re visiting the zoo on Bank Holiday Monday, you can see the trio tethered on the lawn by Harry Hatch’s cottage.
