Dudley North MP Ian Austin is calling on the Council and the police to take action to improve safety on a Gornal road, after residents appealed for action to be taken on speeding cars.
Mr Austin wrote to all local residents in Wood Road and the surrounding area with a road safety survey after a fatal collision killed a local woman in September.
The survey highlighted that many residents were worried about their safety as speeding vehicles continue to use the road as a rat-run.
Austin and local campaigners will be handing in a petition signed by hundreds of local residents to Dudley Council House, Priory Road, DY1 1HF on Friday 24th November at 2pm. Mr Ian Austin said:
“After the tragic fatal accident on Wood Road many people got in touch asking for action to tackle speeding cars. Hundreds of residents have signed a petition and sent back my survey demanding measures to prevent anything like this ever happening again.
“Local residents and I will be presenting the petition and pushing the Council and the police to take action”
