Dudley man jailed for rage road attack

A Dudley man who hit his victim over the head with a pickaxe handle in a road rage attack in Quinton has been jailed more than three years.

36-year-old Eugene Hamilton, from Attingham Drive, assaulted Michael Anderson, fracturing his skull, after accusing him of cutting him up on a restaurant car park.

The court heard that armed police, who happened to be passing by at the time, saw the attack taking place and arrested him at the scene.

Hamilton, who has 20 previous convictions for a range of crimes, told officers that he would have shot Mr. Anderson if he had a gun – he was jailed for 40 months.
