Firefighters are responding to a ‘significant fire’ at a commercial premises on Great Bridge Street, West Bromwich.
Fifteen fire engines are in attendance, along with several specialist resources including aerial ladder platforms, a high-volume pump, and a drone team.
Crews are making good progress, supported by colleagues from West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: “The fire involves a single-storey factory unit measuring approximately 100m by 100m.
”A full evacuation of the premises took place and no casualties were reported. Utility companies were requested to attend to isolate gas and electricity, and structural engineers have also been called to assess the site.
“Our fire service drone team, alongside a hydraulic aerial platform, are supporting our teams in monitoring fire spread and aiding tactical decision-making.
”We thank local residents and businesses for their cooperation and patience while we worked to bring the fire under control. Please avoid the area, where you can.”
