Council host high-rise living event for local residents

Residents came together to share their views on living in a high-rise development at a recent meeting with the council.

Last week, tenants of Firmstone Court in Wollaston met with council staff and the cabinet member for housing and communities in their communal gardens.

This is the second event as part of Dudley Council’s initiative to explore issues of high-rise living and help residents to remain safe and well in their homes.

Many residents welcomed the opportunity to come along and share their views. This included some positive feedback on services as well as some ideas and suggestions as to how services could be delivered differently. Councillor Laura Taylor-Childs, cabinet member for housing and communities, said:

"This event is part of a new programme of initiatives to engage with residents across the borough, listen to their views and help us deliver improved local services to communities. It was really great to see so many residents come along and talk to us."

The event was organised by the council`s housing and communities teams.
