The stand-up, famed for his grouchy deadpan style and the inspiration behind Simpsons character Moe Szyslak, will take centre stage at the next 'Funny Beeseness' show at Cornbow Hall on Saturday 8th June.

In a stellar career spanning four decades, Hall has appeared on the likes of Have I Got News For You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and 8 Out of 10 Cats, as well as presenting a number of BBC documentaries.

He is one of a select few comics to claim the prized Perrier Award, winning it in 2000 as his alter-ego, Otis Lee Crenshaw, following in the footsteps of the likes of Frank Skinner and Steve Coogan. 

Hall will be supported on the night by Steve Royle, who has appeared in Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere, and fast-rising Brummie comic Lindsey Santoro. Over 200 tickets have been sold already with just a handful remaining. The event will be hosted by resident MC, Wayne Beese, who said:

“Steve Royle is one of our most popular acts and got a standing ovation and an encore the last time we put him on at one of our other clubs, while Lindsey is one of the most exciting newer acts on the circuit. All in all it promises to be a brilliant night and we hope the people of Halesowen will come out and support it.”

Tom Stade, Milton Jones and Angelos Epithemiou have taken centre stage at the town centre venue since Beese started putting on shows in September last year.
