Car driver blue lighted to major trauma centre

A woman received pre-hospital trauma care by ambulance staff before being taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Dudley last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a single car RTC on Bean Road, Tipton at 10.29pm on Tuesday (27th May). Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma team responded to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived on scene they found a woman, believed to be the driver of the car, out of the vehicle and in a serious condition.

“The team of medics worked quickly to assess her and administer trauma care to stabilise her condition. The woman was then conveyed by ambulance, using blue lights and sirens, to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.”
