The owner of a Cradley car dealer has been jailed for a year after he sold vehicles riddled with faults – some of which posed a danger to the public.
Mohammed Khabeer’s company, Lyde Green Motor Centre, was charged after it emerged that cars were sold with faulty brakes and electrical problems.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard that the 30-year-old sold one car which could have resulted in carbon monoxide poisoning due to a problem with its exhaust.
Khabeer, who lives in Birmingham, admitted six charges relating to unfair trading, while his firm, which is no longer in business, was fined £21,000.
