A new training course is being offered to tame lively canines of any age, breed or size.
Dog owners are encouraged to take their dog to weekly training lessons in Mary Stevens Park, delivered by a trainer with over 30 years experience.
Pet lovers can learn reward-based techniques for ensuring their dog is under control on and off the lead, and how to put a stop to any bad habits around the home.
Owners are asked to bring their dog on a lead to the first class on Saturday 23 April at 2pm near the War memorial on Queens Drive. Each session costs £5.
Alan Lunt, strategic director of the place directorate at Dudley Council said:
“There is a great dog lovers’ community in Mary Stevens Park. I expect many dog owners would admit to struggling with some aspect of dog behaviour, from pulling on the lead to eating food out of the kitchen bin or not coming back when called.
“Having well behaved dogs in our parks is important around young children and animals, particularly in the school holidays when the park is bustling with families and dog walkers alike.”
