Police Community Support Officers Joe Bull and Ellie Fletcher have both been presented with Chief Constable Commendations.
In May last year, Joe and Ellie were patrolling Bloxwich in Walsall when someone told them they’d seen two teenagers running down the high street with knives. Another person said they had seen then hold up a taxi driver.
The PCSOs split up and followed the boys before detaining them and seizing the knives they had stolen from a shop. Police officers then arrived to arrest them.
Joe and Ellie were given the awards by Deputy Chief Constable Vanessa Jardine at an awards ceremony last week.
