The team at Christ Church in Lye have put out an appeal for information after a statue of a soldier on the war memorial in front of the building was damaged.
The bayonet has been snapped off the monument which commemorates those who lost their lives in the Second World War. Reverend Simon Falshaw said he felt that local people were "really sad and really annoyed that it's gone missing".
It's unknown when the damage, which was spotted earlier this month, occurred but Rev. Falshaw has appealed to anyone who is aware of the location of the bayonet to contact the church.
You can do so either in person, or by calling 01384 894948.
