Black Country Radio, as a not-for-profit organisation, raises funds through a number of streams. These include commercial advertising, fundraising and grant support.
We would like to thank those who support us, particularly those who have supported us through the pandemic, to help us provide a local media service to the people of the Black Country.

The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service
Black Country Radio was honoured with The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in June 2021, which is the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE. The station also received special recognition from the awarding body for the support they gave to local communities during the Covid-19 pandemic throughout 2020.
Oliver Dowden, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, said: “I’m delighted that Black Country Radio its receiving The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) this year, with a special designation for providing impactful support during the early months of the pandemic. Congratulations on this well-deserved honour!"
