In July 2024, my life changed with a bowel cancer diagnosis.
What followed was a journey of uncertainty, surgery, recovery, reflection and gratitude. Along the way I discovered something that became impossible to ignore.
None of us gets through life's biggest challenges alone.
Family, friends, healthcare professionals, neighbours, colleagues, faith groups, charities and complete strangers all played their part. Together they formed a community that helped carry me through some of the most difficult days of my life.
Join me as I formally launch my second book, Didn't Anyone Ever Tell You? Never trust a fart! Surviving and beating bowel cancer.
Through stories, lessons, humour, honesty and lived experience, we'll explore the power of community, the importance of resilience and why none of us should underestimate the impact we can have on the lives of others.
I will share:
• My bowel cancer journey and recovery
• The inspiration behind my new book
• Lessons learned about resilience, mindset and hope
• Stories of the remarkable people who made a difference
• Why community matters more than ever
There will also be an opportunity to meet fellow guests, ask questions and purchase signed copies of the book. (Card payments accepted)
Whether you have faced your own challenges, supported someone through theirs, or simply believe in the power of people helping people, this lunchtime get together is for you.
