The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel stage show is based on the Sunday Times bestseller and inspired one of this most treasured and most watched films released in 2012. The film featured a stellar cast including Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith. 

This touring production also features a stellar cast - icons of Hollywood’s Golden Age including Academy, BAFTA and Golden Globe-Award winner Hayley Mills (The Parent Trap), household favourite and screen and stage star Paul Nicholas (Jesus Christ Superstar) and Rula Lenska (Coronation Street).

Spin offs inspired by the film included TV series The Real Marigold Hotel, where celebrity stars of a certain age not only travelled to India, but various exotic locations around the globe, and star of the stage tonight  Paul Nicholas took part in. 

And so to tonight’s performance as we are taken on the  journey to India following the eclectic group of British retirees as they embark on a new life in a retirement home with a difference!

The luxury residence is far from the opulence they were promised, but as their lives begin to intertwine and they embrace the vibrancy of modern-day India, they are charmed in unexpected and life-changing ways.

The set design takes us to the heart of the hotel; as we watch the cast, this exotic group with stories and pasts take a leap of faith in an unknown country - exploring a new world in later life. 

With wit and charm, and no subject left unturned, this story of a group of individuals  brings a joyous upbeat comedy about taking risks, finding love and embracing second chances, even in the most surprising of places. It’s about taking leaps of faith and grabbing opportunities as they come along - whatever age you may be.
