Cheer for Mary Stevens Hospice with Starbucks CheerForGood campaign

Mary Stevens Hospice could be awarded up to £2,000 this Christmas as part of the Starbucks 'Cheer For Good' scheme.

The Hagley Road Hospice supports families in the West Midlands battling the impact of life-limiting illnesses through a day care unit and also an in-patient residential unit, which is open 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Members of the public and staff at the coffee chain's Merry Hill store put the charity forward for  nomination.

Mary Stevens Hospice is asking supporters and the local area to get behind them by ‘cheering’ for them on Twitter using the hashtag #CheerforGood and the Hospice twitter handle @MSHospice until midnight on 20th December 2017. The leading 30 charities whose supporters ‘cheer’ the loudest will receive a top grant of £2,000, with all charities receiving a £500 grant for taking part.

Starbucks is celebrating the work of 210 community charities around the country by donating £150,000 to local causes that sit at the heart of the communities that Starbucks serves, with Cheer for Good inviting supporters to ‘cheer’ on social media. Dan Malin, Digital Media Specialist, Mary Stevens Hospice said:

“It's a fantastic initiative that Starbucks have launched and a wonderful opportunity for our supporters to shout about their local Hospice. We simply can't put a value on the additional awareness raised about the work that we do here for families in their time of need, and we're so grateful to everyone who has already supported the campaign.

"It's on until the 20th December, so there's still loads of time to get involved and we'd love to see our community continuing to show their passionate support for this campaign!"

Mary Stevens Hospice also celebrated the launch of Cheer for Good on 29th November and fundraised alongside Starbucks teams and customers at Starbucks Merry Hill to raise awareness and money for Mary Stevens Hospice.

You can lend a cheer by Tweeting for the charity using the hashtag #CheerforGood and @MSHospice. For more information, visit starbucks.co.uk/cheerforgood.
