Residents are being offered the chance to make an early start on getting their gardens ready for spring by booking three extra fortnightly green waste collections between February and March.

The extra collections cost just £20 and are available to order now at dudley.gov.uk.

Bins will be emptied on the usual collection day, with the three extra collections taking place between the start of February and the end of March.

It comes after nearly 2,000 households signed up last year for six additional winter green waste collections between November and March. Councillor Rob Clinton, cabinet member for waste management and climate change, said:

“We were delighted so many households took up the option of paying £30 for six additional green waste collections over the winter months at the end of last year.

“For anyone who didn’t, we are now offering people the chance to buy three additional collections for £20.

“I’m sure this will be popular with residents who are looking to get a head start on the often tough task of clearing out the garden ready for spring, providing them with a convenient way to dispose of their garden waste.”

The extra collections are also available to residents who have an additional brown-lidded garden bin.
