Where better to explore the changing landscape of Industrial Britain than Smethwick? A town forged by its industrial heritage, we’re stepping outside to tour its famous canals, railways and historic buildings as we hear about its rich Victorian history.
Join Dr Simon Briercliffe on this guided heritage walk and learn about how this town changed and grew during the Industrial Revolution. Can we still see the remains of the past in the landscape today? What does the future hold for Smethwick? What does all of this mean to you?
Stops include sites such as the Soho Foundry, Black Patch park, and the hospital development at the former GKN works.
