Summer Saturdays

Are you stuck for things to do with the kids over the next few months?

Sure, you could head off to sunnier climes - or maybe scoot around the UK to take in different scenery. However why bother when there’s some AMAZING family days out in the Black Country already?!

Over the next few weeks, we’ve sent Dan out and about to explore some of the very best the region has to offer - and there’s a chance for you to win your way in, too!

Catch him live from three major tourist hotspots and find out more about them - and the work they do - every Saturday from 12pm.

Here’s where he’ll be, and when:

WEEK FOUR: Wolverhampton Grand Theatre

For (almost!) 125 years, Wolverhampton Grand has been entertaining West Midlands audiences from its home on Lichfield Street. A long established theatre in the heart of the Midlands, The Grand receives a wide range of major touring productions including drama, musicals, dance, opera and one of the biggest pantomimes in the UK.

Admired by performers and audiences alike for its intimate three-tiered Victorian auditorium, the Grand celebrates its 125th Anniversary in December 2019.

The arrival of a new Chief Executive in June 2015 signaled a significant period of change, commencing with the complete remodelling and renovation of the Front of House area and a full replacement and upgrade of auditorium seating.

For more information, you can visit grandtheatre.co.uk.

Plus, to celebrate its 125th birthday, a very special pantomime is coming to town!

Dick Whittington is the ultimate rags to riches adventure and will see audiences help their hero outwit Queen Rat to take his rightful place as Lord Mayor of London.

Ryan Thomas (Coronation Street) stars as Dick Whittington, alongside comedy legends Su Pollard and Jeffrey Holland (Hi-de-Hi!Oh, Doctor Beeching! and You Rang, M’Lord?) in this year’s dazzling family panto filled with side-splitting comedy.

The production also sees the return of the Grand’s much-loved Dame, Ian Adams, for a fourth consecutive year and welcomes comedian and celebrity impressionist Aaron James for his Wolverhampton panto debut.

We've teamed up with our friends at Wolverhampton Grand to give you the chance to win a pair of tickets to the Gala Night of Dick Whittington on December 10th 2019! To enter, just answer this simple question:

Q. Dick Whittington triumphs over evil to become the Mayor of which capital city?
