Police seek witnesses after fatal Dudley collision

Police in Dudley are investigating after a man died after a car collided with a bus shelter in Sedgley last night.

Officers were called to Sandyfields Road at around 11.30pm after reports that a Ford Focus had struck a bus shelter.

Despite the efforts of passers-by and emergency crews, the driver in his 30s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

"We are in the early stages of our investigations but we do not believe any other vehicles were involved

"Our thoughts remain with this man's family, as we continue to establish the exact circumstances of this incident.

"I would urge anyone who was at the scene or may have information about the collision, who we have not yet spoken with, to get in touch with us."
