Compton Hospice offer Sahara opportunity for adventurous fundraisers

Compton Care has announced the return of its Sahara trek fundraiser, 17 years after the Wolverhampton-based charity last held the desert-conquering challenge.

The five-day trek, due to take place in the Moroccan Sahara from the 17th to the 22nd November this year, will see participants camping under the night sky and sampling traditional Berber cuisine.

The group will be accompanied by professional guides with expert knowledge of both culture and hiking within the region. Kate Kelly, Community and Events Manager, said:

“We’re very excited to be able to offer our supporters the chance to embark on an adventure they’ll never forget, all to raise money for people living with incurable conditions.

“With the route taking the group through ancient, dried up riverbeds and vast plains, together with the opportunity to sleep under the stunning stars, it will truly be an amazing experience.

"The last Sahara trek back in 2005 raised £40,000 for Compton and we really hope that we can raise even more this time.”

Those taking part in the trek must be of a good fitness level and be aged 18 or over. A £295 registration fee is payable at the time of booking and each participant must fundraise a minimum of £1,600 for Compton by 25th August 2022.
